BOXING GLOVES
WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER WHEN BUYING BOYING GLOVES?
You want to start with combat sports but don´t know how to select boxing gloves?
No problem, we have compiled the 5 most important criteria for you:
1. GLOVES MUST STABILIZE
To protect the wrist from injuries, a boxing glove should be very well stabilized at the wrist. Qualitative processing together with a well-adapted construction provides a stable posture to enable a precise punching feeling. A large stable hold. TRAINING GLOVES:
These are all-rounders. For a normal training 10-14 oz are suitable. 12 oz are classics and suited for most of the weight classes.
SPARRING GLOVES:
Larger and better padded than training gloves, sparring gloves offer better protection while punching. It is possible to use sparring gloves on pads or punching bags but it is much heavier. However for an ambitious athlete this is a very good workout for the muscles.
COMPETITION GLOVES:
Least padded competition gloves are smaller so you are able to hit faster. These type of gloves are used in amateur and professional fights.
4. COMBAT SPORTS
Differences between boxing gloves and Muay Thai gloves:
The traditional boxing glove is a little smaller and less padded. Since boxing is without clinching these gloves are rather not suitable for grabbing. Muay Thai gloves, on the other hand are a little different. They are better padded, since you also need to block kicks and elbow techniques. The thumb of the Muay Thai boxing glove is more flexible so it’s easier to grip during the clinch.
5. WHY BOXING WRAPS?
Boxing wraps protect wrist and finger joint and also support the metacarpal area, more than that they should avoid sprains, fractures and ligament injuries. Furthermore with the wraps the padding of the gloves is improved so that opponents don’t easily hurt themselves in a serious way. Boxing wraps are also important because they fill possible inner space in the gloves and absorb sweat during training/competition. Boxing is a claiming and intense sport, sweating is inevitable. Sweat permanently getting into the glove leads to rapid wear.

Airing the gloves extend the lifetime of the gloves. To avoid bacterial and fungal growth wipe the gloves with disinfectant. Then rinse again with water. To avoid annoying smell put fragrance bags inside the boxing glove while they dry.
